In Comforting Hearts, Teaching Minds, Starr Meade enables families with school-age children to participate in satisfying devotions together, by taking them through the Heidelberg Catechism. Approved in 1663, the Heidelberg Catechism is still used and admired today for its clear, comforting summary of Christian truths. This book expands the catechism into a devotional for families of children aged 5-12.
Short, child-appropriate devotional readings for six days of the week help explain the answers to the Heidelberg Confession’s 129 questions accompanied by relevant Bible passages.
Although the Heidelberg Confession was originally divided into 52 “Lord’s Days,” Meade divides longer answers into two weeks so that they can be explored in full, meaning the devotional can be used for a year or longer.
