The message of the Cross is central to the Christian faith and is still relevant to us today. In this book, Finlayson explores the significance and the mystery of the cross focusing on 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 and Isaiah 53. The truth is applied here in a most compelling manner, a manner which ensures that no reader can be left unmoved.
“Here is faithful preaching which seeks to go beyond the normal parameters of preaching on Christ and yet to remain faithful – indeed, more faithful by virtue of that fact – to the Christ not only of Paul but of the gospel narratives too.”
– Carl R. Trueman, Paul Woolley Professor of Historical Theology and Church History, Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
“This is a book short in length, but heavy in theological weight, deep in biblical analysis, measured in doctrinal expression and rich in devotional value.”
– Iain D. Campbell, Minister, Point Free Church of Scotland, Isle of Lewis & Moderator, General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland 2012
