Christians place God at the top of their priority list. But how does that priority transfer from paper to practice? The answer lies hidden in plain sight. The First Table of God’s Law (commandments 1-4) issues clear direction on the demand for God-centered living. Keeping this Law embodies true love to the Lord. But sadly, a preoccupation with man’s rights captivates the contemporary church and supplants the chief concern of God’s sovereign rights. Every inclination to dethrone God from his place of supremacy results in tragic consequences. The clarion call of the Bible blasts amid these uncertain sounds. First Things First confronts a blind spot and calls for a paradigm shift, a return to God-conscious pursuits of God’s own glory. We can only keep “first things first” by having the “first table first.”
