Central to God’s character is the quality of holiness. Yet, even so, most people are hard-pressed to define what God’s holiness precisely is. Many preachers today avoid the topic altogether because people today don’t quite know what to do with words like “awe” or “fear.”
R. C. Sproul, in this classic work, puts the holiness of God in its proper and central place in the Christian life. He paints an awe-inspiring vision of God that encourages Christian to become holy just as God is holy. Once you encounter the holiness of God, your life will never be the same.

“Every Christian who is serious about his or her growth needs to read The Holiness of God. I profited greatly from this book.”
– Jerry Bridges, author of The Pursuit of Holiness
“When I first heard R. C. Sproul’s teaching on the holiness of God, it brought me face-to-face with the awful splendor of God’s majestic holiness in a new and fresh way.”
– John MacArthur, pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California
I walked by my copy of this classic book the other day and opened it randomly. I could not put it down until I had finished the compelling analogy Sproul was unfolding. That’s the way it is over and over with me. Sproul is one of a kind in the way he combines depth and clari-ty and biblical realism to every topic he addresses. The Holiness of God is my favorite of his books because it is most central. It is who God is.
– John Piper, Chancellor of Bethlehem College and Seminary
